Running potato with kernel 2.2.12 on a NEC Versa note with neomagic video card.
After moving from slink to potato about 6 months ago, I installed the new kernel
and pcmcia-cs from source rather than dpkg. Since then I haven't upgraded
anything

it was a PnP card*. I put the relavent arguments in
modules.conf/conf.modules (this was back my dark RH5.2/2.0.36 period) and
everything worked fine. For the sound configuration in the kernel I started by
saying M to soundblaster and no to everything else. Experimentation followed.

I keep getting this error in the startup and when ever I restart
/etc/init.d/network and was wondering why?
Any ideas?
