sony vaio losing disc space

HI!   Do you know why my Sony Vaio PCG-FX310 is steadily losing space on my C drive even when I haven't loaded any new programs or downloaded anything??   In the past week it's dropped from 1.17 GB to 903 MB.  My Norton Virus Scan finds nothing. Thanks!Jodi
