3. I have downloaded and made a CD-ROM of some software and packages I want
to install on my system. How do I tell linux to install them from the CD?

a ip addr. I get
100% packet loss.
LYNX can't seem to find any URL's
But others have said they can see me pinging a ip addr. and the ip addr. is
responding but they aren't making it back to my system?
Any ideas?

when I start the browser or mail programs (Mozilla in Gnome) I would be very

my phone modem is a pcmcia card!

download CD1 so far.
Is this enough to get started or do I need to download all ? number of CD's.
For those of you that are ham radio operators, I am trying to setup a basic
system for running Xastir.(www.xastir.org)
