Read the man pages on 'interfaces' and check /etc/network/interfaces to setup your connection.  As a guess, try using apt-get to replace dhclient with dhclient3.  Look into wpa_supplicant.  What is the IP range setup for the router at home, can it allocate enough IPs? I have WEP working with Sarg
