I'm setting to Debian on a laptop. It has a Radeon Mobility video system that needs a late version of xfree86, at last 4.2.0. Can someone point me to the name of an apt package and the server it's on. Thanks. My second choice would be a tarball I can download, with X setup for dummies ;-) thank

What do I need to upgrade 2.2 kernel to 2.4 without an internet connection ?

I just installed basic Debian 3.0 on a laptop and find I need a late 2.4 kernel, or better to use my NIC. The only "connectivity" I've got is a CD burner on another (sindows) machine that does have a fast internet connection. Can someone point me to an ISO image or a package I can download. It ha

FYI: In another lifetime I had lots of intermittent problems with Xircom NICs and Cisco switches. Configuration negotiation failed, which may be your problem. Cisco had this listed as a "known problem" . The work-around was to force the speed on the laptop to 10MB H/D. Proper fix was to upgrad
