Hello List,
When it comes to graphics and linux, is there a Eye Candy window manager
out there; for me if I'm to go GUI and I have a powerful graphics card
humming under the hood; I'd like something that looks nice, shadows,
transparent well drawn icons, widgets and all.
Any thoughts?

I put Debian 5.0.5 lenny on my Acer travelmate 4010 recently and am
having a three minute timeout at "waiting for /dev to be fully
populated...[8.393716] acer-wmi: No or unsupported WMI interface, unable
to load."
which is fine, except the darn timeout is for three full minutes!

This is your error. For whatever reason the /initrd.img can't be
created.
Can you run this command:
ls -ltr /initr
