A vendor (carrefour in France) accepts to try the CD live Knoppix on the
laptop acer 5633wlmi cgf1012 (core 2 duo T5500)
But when PMCIA is checked the boot failed.
I can boot with the option "Knoppix no pcmcia" but I wonder which is the
meaning of the crash.

I think most vendors recommend their specific stuff, or maintain
a certification list like Lenovo. It's just not the same as with PCs.
