Hi all.
Last week I upgraded my kernel to 2.4.27-12, from
kernel-image-2.4.27-2-686, and promptly lost my orinoco network driver
to an unresolved symbol:

/lib/modules/2.4.27-2-686/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/orinoco.o:
/lib/modules/2.4.27-2-686/kernel/drivers/
I have a different "winmodem", but had similar problems until I found out the
connection works great when I plug my laptop out of the power socket! Some
kind of electical interference I guess.
So if you have a laptop, give that a try.

I forgot to mention some possibly important specs:
kernel 2.6.12 to 2.6.14 ( i use different ones)
sl-modem 2.9.9d7
What I want:
1. to have a reliable internet connection via the modem
2. band width on this line to be in practice greater than 2kb/s. - although I will take reliability over even this snails pace if someone can help me (even 1kb/s is fine if it is reliable).

Hi,
I realise this topic has been discussed before, but a google search didn't
really turn up anything decisive.
I have a laptop that is used in a wireless environment with WEP at home, and
in a wire ethernet static configuration at work with a http-proxy server.
I'd like to be able to use it in

Sorry for that. The interfaces man page actually says:

That's the one! Looks very nice. And in fact, there is already a handle
for flushing the postfix mailqueue there, so I don't have to worry about
that. I'll just add a script for ntpdate, an
