Hi,
I've been using debian/linux for a while now, and never worried about
i8k before. However it'd be nice if I get both the volume and
mute/unmute special buttons and also corresponding FN-keys to work...
Problem is that although I compiled kernel 2.6.11.8 with I8K support:
CONFIG_I8K=y

I think it would be better to use
http://mid.gmane.org/[EMAIL PROTECTED], but it doesn't work either
(gmane.org claims that there is no such group as
gmane.comp.freedesktop.xorg :-).

Hi.
Thanks, I'll try this. But if alsa can provide this functionality, it's
better to have as minimun third-party tools as possible...
Anyway, if I will by unsuccessful with alsa, I'll end up with
third-party driver.

Hi.
No, I use alsa (+esd) for sound. Can you provide your
`lspci | grep -i modem`?
BTW, have you made any kind of special setup for all this stuff to work?
I mean is modprobe.d/alsa written by alsaconf enough to work properly?
After modprobing I hear some kind of click and sound stops.
