Hello, Unfortunately this has caused system crashes that are more serious than I'd originally thought...after much e2fsck repair: /var/lib/dpkg/available is missing. Other than saying out loud, "cripes this is bad news" I'm not entirely sure how to proceed... thanks, emma -- Emma Jane
