Compact Flash in a card adapter, which has always worked in the past,
and it just doesn't show up. I try to mount the card, and it says "no

with a selfcompiled 2.6.5 Kernel and can't get this working. I installed
pcmcia-cs and on startup it claims that it watches 2 sockets:

Passing nolapic to the kernel solved my problem.
Florian is right. With acpi=off, I don't have sound. Just don't know why.
Anyway, now both ACPI and sound works perfectly.

unfortunately, the X-Server is running .. I get the same error even
if I've already started KDE using "startx" as root/normal user oder
using GDM as login-manager ...
.. some applications won't work if I can't connect to the X-Server
using :0.0 ..
.. I checked following :
As normal user e
I guess the xserver is not running.
