I'm new with debian and didn't get the already known error with :
Xlib : no protocol specified
This is happening if I try to start kdm or a application as "make xconfig" ..
Does anybody has a solution for me ?

2.6.7-rc3. I'm trying to figure out if the system is running slower
than it actually should. The primary datum I have so far is that it
takes about 15 minutes to rebuild the kernel, longer than on a slower
desktop system I have.
