Having updated my Dell Latitude CPx to testing last night, in order to
get OpenOffice 1.1, everything seemed fine until I attempted to use
atitvout this morning - in front of a roomful of students - to use the
CRT out as well as the builtin screen.

Hi Aswin,
have a look at www.linux-on-laptops.com and try to locate your Sony Vaio
Model there. Chances are good that someone has your model running under
X and his hints may help you to get started.

have a look at www.linux-on-laptops.com and try to locate your Sony Vaio
Model there. Chances are good that someone has your model running under
X and his hints may help you to get started.

:Not sure at all. Does 2.6 constitute a move away from pcmcia-cs?
The pcmcia-cs won't let you compile/install the standalone modules into
kernel >= 2.5. (You can --force it, but these kernel already contain
almost the same code. See PCMCI
