There's no need to compile pcmcia-cs manually since Debian has
pre-build packages (kernel-pcmcia-modules-$KERNEL).

Hi,
I am trying to do the upgrade to XF4.2 but I keep on running into all these dependency problems. Is there a way to tell dselect to do the necessary upgrade from stable to testing for the packages affected or do i have to manually download all the new files from testing ?

I'm using an atmel wlan card with the atmelwlandriver from sourceforge,
and I'm having some problems:
The card works great, but when I start or stop my Xserver while the card is
plugged in, my system freezes. If I remove the card while starting or
stopping the Xserver, I don't have this problem.

You just need to add the "testing" sources to your /etc/apt/apt.conf, and
then do the dist-upgrade.
Check your /etc/apt/apt.conf file

Hi!
Did you change your /etc/apt/sources.list file? You have to make sure
that Sarge sources are included.
Try something like this and then run dist-upgrade again:
# Woody / Stable
deb ftp://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ stabl

What I did was to change the configuration file /etc/apt/sources.list so that
wherever it said "stable," it now said "testing."
"Testing" is what will become sarge.
Then "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade" bring you up to speed.
