Megahertz/USR only made 2 different EM3288 cards. There was the XJEM3288
and the CCEM3288. Both cards are fully supported in Debian (Modem &
Ethernet).

Hi there.
I just recently acquired an old Toshiba Satellite 100CS with win95 in
very bad condition. I really need to clean out the OS, and I was
thinking of putting debian on it because the netinstall would be perfect
if this megahertz pc card is supported. I've crawled over the web and

Hi,
I've set up a Netgear MR814v2 and a Netgear MA401 wireless network. Works
good, range is ok. Laptop is Dell 81K, card firmware is 1.3.6, always
connects with 11Mbps rate and signal strength > 50. Kernel is vanilla 2.4.20
with preempt patch applied, pcmcia-cs 3.2.4.
Now for the fun part: I
Hi. I had this console problem where I couldn't see anything and so I
rebooted my system. When it came back up, there was a line from
/etc/fstab in my /etc/motd file. Why might this happen? I'm just
curious.

Hi. I've got "vga=0x0f05" in my lilo.conf file so that I can get a
better console resolution, but whenever I exit X, the resolution is back
to whatever the default is and I can't see the bottom of the console
(it's down past the bottom of my screen). Has anyone seen this problem?
Does anyone know
Paul,
That was the crucial information. I'm not sure which was the problem, but my
/etc/modules had 'char-major-14 soundcore' and I had no mixer installed.
Normally I just use the tools KDE supplies but I don't have X installed on
this machine so I'm really roughing it. So I fixed '/etc/modu
Hi:
I don't know exactly what happens, but this if what I think:
- the laptop has an S-video output, so you need a s-video plug on the pc end
of the cable;
- then the TV has either a scart or an RCA (or both) inputs;
- so, since the scart input has no signal to receive the s-video signs
(maybe one

Right. That I think is actually true, after I carefully read the useless

hello,
just in case it helps anybody:
I installed sarge on a Dell Inspiron 2600 with the intel 830 chipset.
kernel 2.4.20. Xfree 4.2.1 from sarge did not work with the i810 driver
which is supposed to do it.
It worked with a new knoppix which uses X 4.3.
So I upgraded to 4.3 with a deb-line from a
I have installed woody on a Compaq Armada 1750. Very smooth, everything
supported but the sound, parallel to win98, which was present on the
machine when bought secondhand. the bios/setup/F10 partition is only
avalaible via windows. I bought a Intel Etherexpress100pro PCMCIA card
which is nicel
