problem with debian and xdm

I just recently installed debian 3.0 on my dell inspiron 8100. And I am having a few problems. One, was the fact that i am using a radeon m7, but i got xfree86 4.2.0 and that seemed to work. Well here are the questions i guess. How do i get out of booting into xdm logon manager? I installe

Hi, after reading this thread I decided to once again try to get IrDA running on my laptop. I tried to find out which device it is using and got the following output: $ dmesg | grep tty ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A ttyS03 at 0x02e8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A ttyS1: LSR safety check engaged
