To get the stuff running you've to:

- recompile the kernel modules for yo

Anyone know if there's a tool to turn off the backlight or

I like to start some mp3's playing and then shut the case.

Hi,
Has anyone here been able to get DRI to work on the ATI Mobility M1 chipset?
I've tried just about everything, with no luck either.
I tried compiling the new DRI modules from dri.sourceforge.net, and loading
them all, with no luck there. I made sure that my xconfig file had all the

if you have the alsa drives installed, and your card is the cs3247, do the

modprobe sb io=0x220 irq=5 dma=1 dma16=0
if it works, add the line without the modprobe command to /etc/modules and it

I recently installed debian on a laptop. I installed basic potato
system (with reiserfs support) and then did a dist-upgrade to woody
straight away. PCMCIA seems to be fine under both potato and woody.
I didn't have to do any tuning for my install.

I have a Linksys PCMPC200 10/100, which uses the tulip_cb module. It seems to
work quite well, although I have never been able to get much 15 Mbps within my

I had loaded the May 25th version of debian-woody from a CD image,
and got some conflict between the NIC and some other device

the PCMCIA devices under Win NT.) But I got it to where everything
would come up fine.

PCMCIA is officially obsolete. The two new names are "PC Card" and "Card
Bus". PC Card can only handle about 1.5MB/s, so it's a waste of money to get
a PC Card 100baseT card as it won't be much faster than a 10ba
I've been using several D-Link cards. I recommend DFE-650TXD and DFE-660TX
NICs.
The first one is 16-bit card, and the second is 32-bit card.
DFE-650 uses ne2k-module, and DFE-660 uses tulip-module.

If you have to use a token ring card use the ibm turbo 16/4 together with the
latest kernel patch from Alan Cox.
