If you use initramfs-tools as ramdisk-tool then you should probably
rebuild your kernel ramdisk to have the change take effect.
If you want to try using an alternative ramdisk generator then I would
be happy to help you out -
rm for INITial RamDisks,
both new and older ones, while initramfs is the specific initrd format
introduced with Linux 2.5.x and the used by both initramfs-tools and
yaird.

i strongly believe it's a udev bug. the same warnings appear on my
system since last udev upgrade. the apear both at cryptdisks and lvm
initscript invokation.

for Etch, it seems odd to me that you experience this issue in a RC for
