third-party module, in this case "tp_smapi".
The failure mode
According to other folks, the modules-assistant compiles madwifi just
fine even with the error message.
Second, with the 1.0.8178-3 version of the nvidia kernel source, it is
no longer looking for the header file that has gone missing from
2.6.16 that was in 2.6.15 and earlier, and so it compil

I did install the linux-headers-2.6.16-2-k7 package and tried to compile
some modules with module-assistant. I fails with the following comment:

As you can see I have linux-headers-2.6.15-1, linux-headers-2.6.15-686,
linux-headers-2.6.15-686-smp, linux-headers-2.6.16-1 and
