Just a quick note in case it's of any use:
The kernel will boot just fine through xen.efi and you get to keep access to
the EFI:
# cat /boot/efi/EFI/xen/xen.cfg
[global]
default=xen
[xen]
options=console=vga loglv

- I don't know if related, but with this 4.4.0-1 I have again a problem

I can confirm this issue on my Lenovo G580. The problem persists after today's
update to 4.4.2-2.

Dear Maintainer,
I compiled 4.4.0-rc3 kernel myself and it works fine, 4.3.0 kernel also
boots.
However package 4.4.0 restarts computer just after selecting entry from
grub menu, so nothing is saved in the log. It fails to boot.

Dear Jim, dear Maintainer,
I get exactly the same problem on my computer.
As additional information, a new update of linux-image-4.4.0-1-amd64
came later, but the problem still remains.

ThinkPad Edge E330 3354-AY5 have everything OK.
