I no longer use klaptopdaemon anymore I use KPowersave.
Recently KPowersave has changed from relying on powersaved to HAL and I
have noticed no more issues since.
I recommend that this bug be closed.

hmm you are not using debian kernels so i could close it right away.
still can you give a feedback if that is fixed in a newer kernel?
2.6.21 or 2.6.22 have newer acpi merged.
