Hi Jurij, making sure I've only got one set of audio modules loaded unfortunately doesn't change much - I used to think I only used OSS, and when I only load the OSS modules now, 'rec xyz.wav' still freezes the system. When I load the ALSA modules instead, though, recording works fine - only that
