I am happy to confirm that this worked as described with the 4/3/2007 amd64
businesscard daily build - detected both the CD and the hard drive when
generic.all_generic_ide was set.

Could you please try again with the current version of the installer from
[1]?
The business card iso downloaded on 10 feb 2007 did _NOT_ work on my system.
It was still unable to detect the cdrom. lsmod showed the jmicron module was
loaded.
The system is an Intel DG965SS mobo, with lspci showing:
00:1f.2 SATA controller [0106]: Intel Corporation 82801HR/HO/HH
(ICH8R/DO/
I had the same issue with the Intel DG965SS motherboard - CD was unable to
be detected. I had to do a USB install to get Debian installed.
