I believe that the following patch, which will be included in

And if you have a bug which you think needs to cover
multiple kernel versions, its probably best to just
report it against one and ask if it should be clonned

I'm taging this as wontfix, as its assigned to 2.4.27 and

IF your are interested, that is covered on http://bugs.debian.org,
but breifly, CC [EMAIL PROTECTED] and start the message as I have above.

That seems reasonable to me. Can others comment?

wiki entry. I take it to be a work-in-progress document,
rather than doctrine. I personally don't find much at fault with what it
says. But I haven't been looking into the module build problem much.
I really think we should focus our energies on finding a module build
framework that works f

As a work around I am going to disable SOFTWARE_SUSPEND on effected
flavours, so far powerpc/miboot:
It seems that CONFIG_PM needs to be set for CONFIT_SOFFTWARE_SUSPEND
to compile cleanly. For startes, swsusp_arch_suspend needs
swsusp_save.

Thanks, the suggestion above will be incporated into the next release.

I stronly suspect so. A proposed fix has been incoporated into
module-init-tools 3.2-pre9-4, could interested parties please
test this problem against that release?

Is this bug resolved by running alsaconf?

Alternatively, is ALSA in a better state on HPPA in 2.6.14-2?

27;t have a problem with this, though I'm not sure
how to add it to the current packaging layout, and I think there
might need to be some hacking done for it to happen. So its probably
best for some of the other kernel team people to comment on if
this is a good idea or not first.

Your approach also seems workable, well at least more workable than the
current situation. Though I'm not sure what happens when
now it just e-mails me,

Sure, though I don't seem to be able to check hooks/post-commit out :(

Ultimately the best option is to get newer versions of these
drivers into Linus' tree. If there is any way that Debian can
help with that, then thats help that should be given IMHO.

Hi Netdev,
could someone please comment on what a good default congestion
algorithm setup for distribution kernels is?
Thanks

I believe that the problem still remains at boot time because
root is read-only, and modprobe's locks require write access.
