Bug#338316: CPU spikes on PowerMac

Perhaps the issue i'm having is related to this one. I was running 2.6.15-1-powerpc64 on my (dual G5) PowerMac7,2. When i start the KDE sound system, using ALSA, artsd will spike the CPU to 100%. If i disable that and tell XMMS to use ALSA directly, xmms will do the same. I recently built a 2.6
