Thanks, can you then point us to the upstream report once you got to
it?

I would like to upload linux version 5.10.38-1 today. It imports
stable versions up to 5.10.38 and covering the usual upstream
bugfixes and adresses several CVEs.
An ABI bump is included.
The packaging changes done cover bugfixes and additional hardware
support, or bugfixes for installation suppr
Hello,
Here are the requested logs from the working X2 U4200 on HP T510.
I'll send the information from U3500 in separate mail tomorrow, since
the machine is in different physical location.

The discussion upstream does not seem to be converging on a proper fix
in the kernel, so I'm going to clone this bug and suggest that
debian-installer patch the start-udev script to ignore the failure of
the udevadm trigger command.
To summarize: init ends up calling start-udev which calls udevadm
This bug is over 2 years old, and still not handled.
The 'configure_networking' function should not panic if the network
cannot be configured, but fail gracefully.
It should be the responsibility of the caller to handle the fail and
re-try if appropriate.
I increased the severity of the bug.

Bug #911727 [initramfs-tools-core] initramfs-tools-core: configure_networking
