settings would offer great security benefits and no or very minimal performance
decrease.

No, i210 and i219 detect the carrier correctly even when un-plugging and
plugging back the cable.
Only the i350 fails to reconnect.

Dear Maintainer,
Debian 9 fails to boot on a Soekris net5501 with a Geode LX processor.
Debian 8 worked fine. Running Debian 9 on Linux 3.16.0-8-586 from Debian
8 works.
Are other Intel NICs affected by this problem as well?
