I'm assuming this report is about the same bug as all the similar
reports about i915 regressions in version 4.18.20, so I'm merging (and
closing) it.
The bug should be fixed in 4.19 which is now in testing.

Bug #917524 [initramfs-tools] initramfs-tools: Upgrade from initramfs-tools
package fails
Bug reassigned from package 'initramfs-tools' to 'udev'.
No longer marked as found in versions initramfs-tools/0.132.
Ignoring request to alter fixed versions
Control: reassign -1 udev
Control: forcemerge 917261 -1
This looks like a known udev regression, which is fixed in version
240-2.

Hi!
After upgrading an i386 box (Soekris net5501) running testing (buster),
I found out that the newly migrated Linux kernel fails to boot.
Looking at the boot through the serial console reveals the attached

this indeed seems to be fixed as of 4.19.0-1-amd64
Just installed it from testing distribution and no black screen, modeset
worked fine.
Sorry I forgot to include the actual install error message in the bug report.
I'll do that now.

Hi all,
I know that's holidays, that's just a reminder to not forget to upload
firmware-nonfree 20181218-1 into archives.
The transition freeze for buster is soonish (it won't be blocking?).
Nowadays, a lot of laptop or dev boards might require these firmware
for some IP blocks.

Hi,
After upgrading from bpo.1, my system is unusable
