I'm still seeing the same failure in efi_call with 4.4.4-1 and 4.5-rc4
and 4.5-rc7 from experimental on an HP x360.
It has the INSYDE Corp implementation of EFI which seems to be a common
factor.
I'll try build the kernel with the patch suggested and test that.

After a dist-upgrade yesterday (2016-03-07), my laptop refused to finish
booting, hanging at "loading initial ramdisk." This is with kernel
4.4.0-1-amd64. Booting with previous kernels worked fine, i.e. 4.3.0-1,
4.2.0-1, etc
