I don't think that sync should be needed, as dpkg already syncs all the files it writes Including maintainer scripts/triggers, or only unpacking? Does sync work if it doesn't know the cache mode (I get "No Caching mode page found"/"Assuming drive cache: write through" from sd on each boot)?
