I have tried to reproduce this myself and failed. Stopping and starting
works fine on an i686 machine. So it can very well be specific for amd64
(or anything else that is specific to that) hardware.
Stopping and starting the vz is a part of my regression suite when testing
the kernel.

Hi,
I am using Debian on a PS3 and it would be good to have the ps3 vram
enabled as a loadable module so that I can use the PS3 video RAM as a
swap device.

I ran a stress in a Lenny 2.6.26-2-686 hvm domu as follows:
# stress --cpu 16 --io 16 --vm 16 --hdd 16 --timeout 3600
Ok its a pretty heavy test for a dual core 2Gb domain...but I got the
same blocked task behaviour:
