Good morning gents,
As the problem still persists with the latest linux-image-2.6.26-1-686-bigmem
Kernel currently shipped with Lenny (just made an update/upgrade), do you want
me to reissue this bug report for the actual kernel version?
Kind regards,
Stefan

Hi,
I find this problem completely reproducible by running the stress program (from
the stress package).
Do this:
(1) Open a terminal, run mplayer SOMEaudioFILE.ogg
Audio output is typically okay at this point (at least for me).
(2) Open another terminal, run stress -c [noOFtotalCPUcores]

There are several reports of hangs with 2.6.26. Did you test the
workarounds mentioned there? (Mostly hpet=disable).

The system hangs every time I boot with 2.6.26. Sometimes very early,
that is about a minute (just enough to start kdm), sometimes it may
function for several minutes (never reached one h

The CD/DVD reader/writer of my Acer 5920g notebook (santarosa) doesn't work.
It works well with Ubuntu 8.04.
It seems a kernel problem related to Debian. Is there a fix?
