Hi there,
I've been trying to work out where, exactly, to post this question.
I'm not on either list and since this is (hopefuly) a one-off I'm not
going to subscribe at this time so please CC me in on-list replies.
I want to build a kernel package for the Xen subarchitecture with NFS

When running mkinitramfs or mkinitramfs-kpkg they both fail if the current
running kernel isn't compiled with modules support and therefore the directory
for modules doesn't exist. The problem lies in the fact

I'm having similar problems with this. I custom-build a kernel for my
border router machine, that has no loadable module support and uses
various grsec patches (e.g. to #ifdef-out /dev/mem and /dev/kmem
support), thus leaving no know

Hello,
I have the exact same bug on my system. I can't boot with the version .21
but I have no problem with the .18
However, before getting the error message written by Stefan Schöttke, I have
that :

The system stays for a few minutes on the BEGIN l

Hello,
"/dev/hda1 does not exist" is a wide field but since I encountered the
same symptoms and worked around them, I can hopefully narrow it down a
bit.
I encountered the problem on two machines out of eight after upgrading
(2.6.18-4 worked fine on both). One is an old P2-300 box with soft RAID

When using this kernel, the time of the system runs too slow. Minutes to

I had a similar problem for 2.6.20 and 2.6.21, but it was solved for me in
2.6.22... Does this work for you too? Can this be closed?

Grub can not see this, if I say update-grub it will change root back to hda1.
May be this is bug in grub?
I don't know how these packages communicate, or do they?

Hello,
the described error did not occur with package linux-image-2.6.21-1-k7
version 2.6.21-4.
I will now test package 2.6.18-5-486 version 2.6.18.dfsg.1-13, because
this is in etch-proposed-updates.
