Here's a couple more data points. I inserted a smaller, 32 MB SD card
without error. The 1 GB card I used, works without error in an external
USB memory card reader.
So there seems to be a problem out past a GB in either the Dazzle 4 in 1
Card Adapter itself or in the driver. Thoughts as to which

(blacklisting hostap did not work, since hostap_cs uses/needs hostap not

I see this bug was moved to linux-2.6. However, there is also a udev bug
#350235 filed for the same problem. While it appears there is a major
udev component (the UI always gets the heat), it also appears to be a
