The linux kernel now does not boot for me. This is with udev 0.076-1
installed, and with hotplug purged. The IDE subsystem seems to be
initialized correctly, but /dev/hda1 does not exist. I get (copied by

I have a NetRAID-1M and have been trying to use it in a 2.6.11 or
greater kernel. Google has not helped, and neither has the linux-scsi
ml. Is this patch ready or is more modification still needed?
Thanks for any pointers!

Hi all, ...
Well, fs uploaded 2.6.14-4, and i think now is a good time to examine the
current situation and make a status summary, and plan for the future.
We would like 2.6.15 to be uploaded soon after it is released, and for that to
happen, we need to either push 2.6.14 into testing (and kill t

I've been working with this problem over the weekend, and I have the
following facts to add to the mix.
(1) As far as I can tell, this is a problem with udev, not with 2.6.14
only. I tried to boot my machine using udev on 2.6.12, and ran into what
seems to be the same problem:
/sbin/init: 43
Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.40
Severity: grave
udev 0.76 failed to queue events correctly and didn't populate /dev at
all using initramfs-tools. I only got a /dev/.udev/failed.
No devices in /dev lead to failure to find root and no boot.
To get up and running again I had to build a new i

Jurij,
I am re-sending this email because I just checked the bug report and I do
not see it listed -- so I assume it went astray.
That's probably my fault, even though I would think that if Makefile would
be written correctly, and fixdep binary already present (and it is
present), then it wo

Fixing this is simply a matter of disabling CONFIG_IEEE80211. This
will allow to use ipw2200 (ipw2100 also) drivers built using

I can't see any option with that name (or anything similar in the
BIOS).
