2.4.27 is not effected by 304548 as the buggy code is a complete
rework for 2.6. I looked over the way that proc/route is handled
for 2.4.27, and it seems fine.

Hi,
A little bit of information on this bug: after reproducing it I have tried
2.6.11, which appears to be in a somewhat better shape (at least, the
picture comes up when using XFree's 'suncg6' driver). I have then tried to
backport the changes in drivers/video/cg6.c, however it is not enough:
unmerge 298787
severity 298787 normal
thanks
Opps...
Sorry for meddling... I have set the BTS back as it was as further thought
shows that although these issues are possibly related they are not the
same bug!
Sorry.
I noticed that the latest version of e2fsprogs in sid (1.37-2) no longer
unmount

These bugs #298787 and #284526 are both symptoms of the same issue.
e2fsprogs contains a script /usr/share/e2fsprogs/initrd.ext3-add-journal
which /usr/share/initrd-tools/scripts/e2fsprogs copied into the initrd
when mkinitrd is invoked.
