There is a bug open (#250929) for the coreutils package which provides the 'cp'
command.
I have the same problem on my machine, from what I can tell it is an XFS ACL
problem
in older kernels.

I searched the archives for my problem and found a post on this

A friend of mine has a PowerFile C200 DVD changer. This thing
connects via firewire and under 2.4 kernels it registers 3 SCSI
