If you first install vim-gnome, it will kick off kvim, but satisfy the
dependencies for vim parts and kde, kdeaddons, so when you do your
next dist-upgrade it won't kick off other kde stuff.

Also, be aware that it may take a long time (hours) to resize your
NTFS partition if you have a lot of file frags that need to be moved,
at least in my experience. I've used systemrescuecd.org successfully.

Is anyone working on getting 3.4.1 packages or is it another effort
being delayed by the (delayed for another week) Sarge release?
be
found. Check that you have installed the documentation. Is it
missing or did I miss some packages?

Now that Sarge is into stable, will kde-3.4.1 finally be moved into testing?
nd there
is a gecko based browser installed."
I've been trying to figure out if Debian includes the "gecko bindings"
referred to and whether it's possible to get a gecko like konqueror
working. I'm using sarge (kde 3.3.2) but could upgrade if needed?
Anyone know?

a menu item (Location => Open with
mozilla-firefox) which can be useful. One feature I like better on
mozilla than konqueror is the "type ahead find" .. it can save a lot
of mouse clicks for those of us with sore wrists. I haven't found a
way to duplicate that on konqueror yet.

Unfortunately, when I clicked links in thunderbird mail messages, a
new konqueror window opens each time.
Anyone have success getting my desired set up?

here's something called kwikdisk
that works too.

testing/unstable and recompiled it in my sarge. Maybe it wasn't
necessary to recompile, but it seemed easy enough for me.
I did the same with kwin-baghira and it's working fine in sarge.

Here, I specified in /etc/mozilla-thunderbird/global-config.js the
following lines:
pref("network.protocol-handler.app.http","/home//scripts/konqueror.newtab");
pref("network.protocol-handler.app.h
Now that unstable is on xorg, it would be useful to have kompmgr
included in kde-3.4.1 so we can enable the window transparency
feature.
Could you rebuild and include it?

Could you be a bit more specific? Which version konq and what

kde-3.4.1 seems to work well with sarge, so I was hoping to be able to
upgrade to 3.4.2 also. But, all these changes of 3.4.2 for sid make
