Hi everybody !
I just upgraded from 2.1.1 / 2.1.2 to 2.2-beta1, and I can't use the french
stuff.
As soon a I set the language to fr, in kpersonalizer or in kcontrol, I can't
start any application. If I logout ( like I can :-) ), I can't start kde
anymore : the screen stay white with the mouse
Hello !
I'm not sure that this is a kde-specific problem, but.
I recently installed locales. Then, I edited /etc/locale.gen and added the
line for french support. Then, I made a "locale-gen", and I set the LANG
variable to fr_FR in /etc/bash.bashrc.
When I start a non-kde program (eg. gimp
I may be wrong, but I think that a file is wrongly named.
It's in the kmidi package :
kmidi looks for /etc/kde2/timidity.cfg, and don't start because this file
doesn't exist..
In fact, this file is, but it's not the same name : /etc/kde2/ktimidity.cfg
And this file begin like this :

hello everybody !!!
I just wanted to know why the kde-i18n-fr package doesn't contains the
kdevelop docs and .mo file, as the french translation team translated it for
kde 2.2.1
Is it in the others i18n packages ?
Thanks a lot !!
Hi everybody !
I can't set konqueror's default charset, using the kcontrol module or the
configuration from the setting menu of konqueror.
I can change the charset (I want 8859-15 instead of 8859-1), but, if I leave
the configuration module and open it again, the charset is still set on
8859-1

No speed problem for me (using kmail 2.2.2-1, PIII 550)

It's working for me.

Somebody told me that the write enabled version depends on a unstable branch
of samba, so it's not included by default (no distribution are packing this
version of samba).

you must modify the "SessionTypes" in your kdmrc, like that :
SessionTypes=default,failsafe,kde3cvs
Then, in /etc/X11/Xsession.d/20xfree86-common_process-args , you must add a
section with the same name that you specified in the kdmrc, like:
kde3cvs)
export PATH=/opt/kde3/bin:$PATH

I compiled kde from sources and I have R/W support, but it's quite buggy.
It use libsmbclient instead of smbclient, or something like that.
I don't understand... Is kde3 not supposed to come into the official
unstable/testing when the switch to gcc3.2 is done ? This should stop this
mess. Why create another area ?
Or will there be no/not enough people for maintaining kde when it comes into
sid ?

I think so, it works correctly for me (konqueror 3.0.8 cvs)
