Hello,
Is anyone here using KDE4 with 1 GB of RAM or less? I have 1 GB on my
laptop and I'm finding that by the end of the day, even after I close most
apps, the system is swapping like crazy and is just unusable, taking
seconds before it reacts to a mouseclick. I have to restart the X server

dear debian-kde list,
i just dist-upgraded from etch to squeeze (for some reason) and kde4 is
now broken. there is a bug already reported here:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=556468 which seems to

with all this, kde seems to still be "usable", meaning i can
Hi,
it is a good question wether or not plasma needs to be installed or not.The
problem of Plasma is thats its _the_ KDE Desktop Shell. Thus you could (for
example) use Fluxbox with KWin as a Window manager. But you will miss out on
most of its integration that makes KDE as a hole that good.

Hello all,
An update from today will make all (?) your GTK apps stop working (iceweasel
with me).
This is because the following bug:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=569815
There was an update to that tonight, but that didn't solve the problem either
(and the bug is now
