No, all you need is:
compiz-core
compiz-gtk
And create/add the following to ~/.kde/Autostart/compiz.sh
sleep 10
compiz --replace gconf

Everything on my kicker evaporated after the upgrade. I re-added everything
but the system tray. It isn't on the "add applet to panel" list.
The dist-upgrade (Sid) went uneventfully for once, and it looked like things
had settled down enough to upgrade safely. Apparently not.
