I run a (more-or-less) headless machine and start KDE in a vnc server.
I had been running 'testing' but switched to 'unstable'. When I
switched to 'unstable', nothing in /usr/share/autostart runs when kde
starts. I get an desktop with a VNC Config dialog and (fortunately) a
konsole. I can run k

I get devices like
/dev/disk/by-label/
so I think my volumelabes are set up correctly. But why does kde not mount the
volums under /media/ but under /
If I understood the help text the right way I need to install hotplug. But
hotplug can't be installed if udev is installed. Do I have to uninstall udev
in oder to get the permissons right for my mouse?

strange problem here, I don't quite know where to look. ARts seems to play
only audio files and crash on streamed audio.
The basic sound system (ALSA) works: xmms can play the desired streams and
audio files perfectly well. Artsd also seems to work as I can get system
notifications a
