Yes, I did install the xkb-data. Without it it was not be possible to configure
the KDE keyboard layouts.
I repeat that for GTK apps (even under KDE) the (ˇ) key works fine. The
problem is with KDE apps an OpenOffice.

I have been told (see Debian bug# 347690 -- Czech keyboard was totally
scr..ed up in the first 6.9.* release of Debian XOrg) that KDE and
