Probably not, maybe mplayer with the win32 dll's ?

Hi,
just to confirm that the problem came from /etc/hosts in my case too !
And you might be surprised to see the case:

I have just upgraded to kde3 and have a few problems, although it worked
OK until I rebooted:
1. My track ball died, which also prevented keyboard operation.
Installing a mouse in place of the trackball restored normal function.
Was this a coincidental failure or did KDE3 cause it?
2. gdm can not

Hi,
First of all, I apologize for my very poor english. I'm also a new user of
Debian...
I tried last week to "upgrade" from kde 3.1.0 to 3.1.1 on a woody (stable), by
"apt-getting" packages.
Now, I have many versions problems (some packages are 3.1.0, others 3.1.1),
because I got an error wh
I ran into the same problem, and all I had to do was un-install kde and
then reinstall all the 3.1.1 packages (this will kill kdm and X so do
it from one of your virtual terminals). I think that a better tool to
use is dselect because you can see the versions when you pick the
packages and it also
Hi!
This error is - as far as I know - often caused by the fact, that, when
there is a new kde version, sometimes some libs get packaged into another
package than before. When this problem appeared, I've always done the
following:
cd /var/cache/apt/archives
dpkg -i --force-all
for every package
dpkg --purge --force-depends kdelibs4 kdelibs4-dev
apt-get -f install

Hi!
I have a Debian Woody system with XFree 4.3.0 and KDE 3.1.1.
I haven't had a graphical login with kdm since I upgraded to XFree 4.3.0 from
binary packages.
When the kdm starts, I get the error message in /var/log/kdm:
"/usr/bin/kdm : relocation error: /usr/bin/kdm: undefined symbol:

Interesting :)
I get this :
platinum:/home/dmp# apt-get -s install libpng3

The following packages will be REMOVED:
kdelibs4-dev kdesdk kspy libarts1-dev libartsc0-dev libpng-dev libqt3-mt-dev

This looks like the reason.
apt-get install libpng3-dev
may help.
Have a nice day,
