I recently read an article about the 'New' KDE and some of the things it
includes. I tried to apt-get some of the new packages, but they weren't
available? I don't have the list with me here at work, but I know one of them is
a new file manager that sounded interesting. These were listed in the a
sure why not. All of the packages you refer to are available. :)
no clue what your talking about. All of the applications that KDE released
as "2.1" are a part of sid and a part of the apt repository on kde.debian.net.
I know this because I made sure of it.

it´s realy nice to click on *.tar.gz files and browse through there
content. But why can´t I click on a gziped text file with the same
result? *.tar.gz and *.gz have different MIME-types but actually with

I have a lot of icons in xpm format. But if I open KDE´s icon selector
box I don´t see all. Are there any restrictions in the size or whatever?

I just installed task-anti-aliasing on my Progeny system and everything
installed without a hitch. The desktop 'seems' to look better, but being
relatively new to Linux, newer to KDE and knowing nothing about
anti-aliasing, how can I check that my system is really using A-A?

I am running a woody debian with the potato versions of kde pulled
down from kde.debian.net. This includes koffice components. Most of
it works great.
However whenever I try and run kword it complains about not having
shared library libkofficeui.so.1
Where is this library (kword doesn't have an
