Have you tried kcharselect ? If you type é,à, ê seldom it is maybe the easier
way to do it.

try to change LC_CTYPE=. (sk_SK works well for me)
(you can add LC_CTYPE=.. to your /etc/enviroment too)
and also look in /etc/inpurc, you will propably need
to uncomm

and the next thing i do not understand. the complete kde speaks nice german
but not koffice. is there a specail i18n package for it or what is going on.
