I had the same problems, under the same circumstances.
Run noatun from a terminal and check the errors. Mine couldn't find the
all of the vorbis libraries because of a missing link:
libvorbisfile.so.0 -> libvorbisfile.so.3.0.0
in /usr/lib, so I made the link
ln -s libvorbisfile.so.3.0.0 libvorbis

I've got xfree86 4.2.0pre1v1 and kde 3.0.2 on my sid-box. also, I have
mosfet's liquid style (0.9.5) and noatun (2.0.0). both of them were working
without problems.
but today I made an apt-get update && apt-get upgrade on my machine. and since
then noatun refuses to play anything. th
