The .directory is recreated, but KDE still thinks that the trash is full
although ~/Desktop/Trash *is* empty apart from .directory.

Try deleting the .directory. It will be recreated for you and should fix the
problem.

Since one of the recent updates the trash bin is always displayed with a
full icon on my desktop, but there are no files in ~/Desktop/Trash
(apart from .directory).
The Icon setting in .directory is stuck at
Icon=trashcan_full
and apparently is not updated when the bin is emptied.
Is this
When I right-click on my trash bin icon on the desktop, there is no
option for emptying the trash bin. I'm running KDE 3.1. There is a "move
to trash" option, but i don't exactly want to do that! :)

anyone noticed that when you empty the trash bin (with the right mouseclick
menu), it doesn't delete the "hidden" files (starting with a "." ) ?
is this for a reason or is this a bug ?
