Hmm...
The only time I had this problem was when I was using hpijs - there was a bug
in gs that caused margins to be set incorrectly, and hence the document
always appeared half off the top of the page.
The newest gs in woody fixed it for me - I presume you are running the latest
version of gs

Actually, no. It's correctly set to A4.
I investigated this a bit further: This happens if I print from
Konqueror and KMail. If I print from the PS/PDF viewer, things get
