KDE 3.1.1 Fast as root but slow as User

I have 128MB of RAM and it seems to always be completely used up when I am logged in as user. I know that this could be causing my slowdown, but what else can be causing it? Secondly, how do I speed things up without installing more RAM?   NeoFax

Index setup in KDE 3.1.1

Does anyone know how to setup the index in KDE 3.1.1?  Is it just the file created after I run rundig? Or is it something else?  TIA!   NeoFax

KDE 3.1.1(Ralf Nolden) and XFree86 4.3.0(Daniel Stone) missing libpng12-0

When I updated to XFree86 4.3.0 from Daniel Stone's repository, it was missing libpng12-0. How do I fix this as xbase-clients needs this and multiple programs need xbase-clients.  TIA!   NeoFax
